Hi, I’m Katha!
First and foremost, I’m very good at lists, so here’s one for you:
1. Who am I?
I’m a Berliner – born and raised since 1991 – and a licensed pharmacist that worked in corporate for many years but then decided that’s not me anymore, so I turned around and became a photographer.
2. What am I like?
Very integer, kind, and I’d like to think I’m funny.
I can be extremely curious (in both senses of the word) when it comes to exploring new things – be it lighting, editing or new shooting ideas!
Also, I’ll definitely be the most socially awkward person in the room, so no need to be nervous in front of my camera.
3. Why choose me?
During the early stages of my business, everyone talked about finding my "unique selling point", and I found it especially hard to pinpoint because I don't think this one is unique to me but should rather be a prerequisite in every business:
- Humanity first – nobody is better than anybody else, on my set everyone is treated with respect.
- Reliability – you can count on me to keep my word or communicate honestly when something unexpected happens
- Professionalism – I'm a big fan of clear expectations, good organisation, and aligned timelines
4. How do I react to challenges or things not going as planned?
I’ll be honest here – my hands and knees will be shaking but I’ll push through anyways. So far I’ve managed to handle any challenge thrown at me, so I know I can do it.
5. What can I offer?
Studio and natural light photography with focus on people and commercial photography, and of course the usual: Adobe Photoshop and LightroomClassic.
I speak German, English and (maybe not so usual) Japanese, since I’ve lived and worked there for an extended period of time.
